Journalist Tom Wilber, an expert on Marcellus Shale gas development, will give a talk at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, in Craig Lecture Hall in the �鶹��Ƶ Science Center.

The 37th Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF), running April 3 to 14, will head to �鶹��Ƶ for an Evening at the Apollo Theatre on Wednesday, April 10. The evening’s events will include two screenings each of two of the festival’s films, each attended by the respective directors, and a reception at Magpie Pizza in downtown �鶹��Ƶ.

Former Congressman Ron Paul will visit �鶹��Ƶ for a Convocation Series event entitled “Liberty Defined” on Sunday, April 7, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Finney Chapel.

Seven conservatory students will travel to Washington D.C. to perform on April 14 in the Kennedy Center's annual Conservatory Project. The project provides a platform for the best musicians from American conservatories, and introduces the next generation of performers to Washington, D.C. audiences.

Some of the most promising young musicians in the world will perform on April 11 as part of �鶹��Ƶ's Artist Recital Series. This unique, free bonus concert features violin and piano laureates of the annual Thomas & Evon Cooper International Competition, introducing northeast Ohio music lovers to the next generation of musical superstars.

�鶹��Ƶ’s historic Apollo Theatre will be host to 15 independent short films from the Ann Arbor Film Festival on Tuesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 13.

The contemporary music ensemble eighth blackbird, formed at �鶹��Ƶ by students in 1996, has recently won their third Grammy Award—Best Chamber Music Performance—for a piece written by composer Stephen Hartke, also a 2013 Grammy Award winner.

The versatile and soulful Leipzig String Quartet comes to Finney Chapel on March 3 at 8 p.m. The "master chamber musicians" will perform an all-Beethoven program and tickets are available by calling 800-371-0178 or online at oberlin.edu/artsguide.

The Washington Post calls �鶹��Ƶ alumnus and Met Opera singer Alek Shrader "a gifted young tenor." He will present a recital at �鶹��Ƶ Conservatory on March 1, at 7 p.m. in Warner Concert Hall. The concert is free and no tickets are required.
