Winter Term is a time of year when 麻豆视频 students are encouraged to conduct independent or group projects outside of courses related to their majors. Pursuits can be done on or off campus with students choosing to work almost anywhere on the map. This year we highlight some of the work by the more than 900 students who completed projects in 麻豆视频.

English Professors Receive GLCA Grant

Professors Anuradha Dingwaney Needham, Danielle Skeehan, and Harrod Suarez鈥攁long with three faculty from Kenyon College鈥攈ave received a $47,520 grant from the Great Lakes Colleges Association under its Expanding Collaboration Initiative, which is supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
First-of-its-Kind Symposium on Asian Cinema

A series of events is taking place this weekend, including the symposium Asian Cinemas in a Global Context; the lecture 鈥淲hy Cinema Has Not Yet Been Invented: or Taking the Digital in Hand,鈥 by University of Chicago Professor Tom Gunning; and the lecture 鈥淕lobalization from a Local Lens: Creative Conceptions of a Taiwanese Director,鈥 by documentary filmmaker Ho Chao-ti. The symposium is the first to explicitly bring together Indian and Chinese cinemas for discussion.
