Peter Takács Begins Three Concert Series of Beethoven’s Complete Violin Sonatas

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ piano professor and avowed Beethoven devotee Peter Takács will be bringing the composer’s 10 violin sonatas to Kulas Recital Hall over the course of three concerts this academic year. The first edition, on Sunday, December 11, features three violinists on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s faculty—Sibbi Bernhardsson and Verona Quartet violinists Jonathan Ong and Dorothy Ro—and guest artist Daniel Stepner.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Opera Theater will present a double bill of operas not seen on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ stages previously—Offenbach’s operetta Le mariage aux lanternes ("The Wedding by Lantern Light") and Rossini’s burletta L'occasione fa il ladro ("Opportunity Makes a Thief")—in Hall Auditorium November 10-13.
The Cleveland Orchestra Releases Album of Compositions by George Walker ’41

On November 4, the orchestra releases a new album dedicated to the music of George Walker, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Conservatory class of 1941, and a trailblazing composer. Recorded between October 2020 and March 2022, the album spans 50 years of the composer’s impressive career. Its release falls shortly after the 100th anniversary of his birth.

These experiences add to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s training and allow students to explore potential roles and repertoire while expanding their network. SongFest, an art song program in California, has been a regular choice for many Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ vocal students. This program offers master classes, concerts, daily lessons, and coachings.
