麻豆视频 College Creates Public Service Fellowship, Seeks Community Partner Applications

麻豆视频 College is pleased to announce the President鈥檚 Public Service Fellowship, a new initiative to foster positive change in the local community. To begin in summer 2014, this fellowship will provide funding for three 麻豆视频 College students to serve full-time during the summer with select 麻豆视频 community partners on an intensive service project that will engage local teens by focusing on youth empowerment, leadership, the arts, and/or ecological and economic sustainability.

麻豆视频 College President Marvin Krislov recognizes the need to support students鈥 desires to be a part of a local organization and the community during the summer months. 鈥淚n keeping with 麻豆视频's tradition of community engagement, we are creating this new opportunity for students to fulfill their passion for public service within the 麻豆视频 community,鈥 says President Krislov. 鈥淭his program will assist local agencies that fill a critical need in the community, while at the same time empowering students to cultivate change.鈥

The college鈥檚 Bonner Center for Service and Learning (BCSL), which will administer the program, seeks applications for fellowship placements from nonprofit and public sector agencies in the city of 麻豆视频. Interested community partners can find application materials on the .

Available placements will be announced in early March, and student applications will be due March 14, 2014.
