Tenor Nicholas Phan, a burgeoning star on the international opera scene who has earned widespread acclaim for his performances in major concert halls and with premier orchestras throughout the world, will perform at �鶹��Ƶ's Finney Chapel as part of the Artist Recital Series at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 3.

Phan replaces bass John Relyea, who suspended his entire tour schedule—including an �鶹��Ƶ performance with pianist Warren Jones on the same date—citing family issues.

The founding artistic director of the Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago, Phan was nominated for a Grammy Award for his recording of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He is an advocate of the music of Benjamin Britten, and his �鶹��Ƶ program will include songs by the British composer as well as Schumann's emotionally charged song cycle Dichterliebe and works by Ned Rorem and Jake Heggie. Phan will be accompanied by pianist Myra Huang.
