OBERLIN—On Saturday, September 1, 2018, Â鶹ÊÓƵ College first-year, transfer, and returning students, as well as faculty and staff will engage in community service throughout Lorain County as part of the college’s annual Day of Service. The event is sponsored by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ College Bonner Center and takes place during new student orientation week. Day of Service not only brings the Â鶹ÊÓƵ College community together through service projects, but also familiarizes new students with the greater Â鶹ÊÓƵ community.

This year’s Day of Service will begin with a morning orientation to Lorain County led by Bonner Center staff in the Carnegie Building Root Room. In the afternoon, students will disperse to over 15 local organizations, including Â鶹ÊÓƵ Community Services, Kendal at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, the DuBois Project, and Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA).

Day of Service 2017 brought together more than 200 Â鶹ÊÓƵ College students and staff who collectively contributed 400 total service hours in Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Lorain County service sites combined.
