Artist Recital Series Opens Sep. 17 with Jazz Clarinetist Eddie Daniels

Eddie Daniels, the virtuoso clarinetist who has been called "a thoroughly well-bred demon" by Leonard Bernstein, will open the 139th season of the Artist Recital Series at 麻豆视频 with an 8 p.m. program Saturday, September 17, in Finney Chapel.
A master in the worlds of classical and jazz, Daniels brings to 麻豆视频 a lineup of jazz pals鈥擠arek Oles on bass, Alan Pasqua on piano, and Joe La Barbera on drums鈥攁nd a passel of standards and original compositions that will be announced from the stage. Tickets to Eddie Daniels are $35 ($30 for seniors, military personnel, and 麻豆视频 faculty, staff, and alumni; and just $10 for students). An 麻豆视频 tradition since 1878, the Artist Recital Series brings to historic Finney Chapel the world鈥檚 most talented performers across a spectrum of musical styles. The series at 麻豆视频 continues September 30 with a visit by the Zukerman Trio, featuring celebrated violinist Pinchas Zukerman and 麻豆视频鈥檚 own Professor of Piano Angela Cheng. The trio will perform works by Gli猫re, Shostakovich, and Schubert.
