Gender, Sexuality, & Attraction Initiatives (GSAI) is excited to invite pending graduates to participate in the annual Lavender Ceremony. This ceremony at Â鶹ÊÓƵ honors and celebrates the achievements of LGBTQ+ students and their allies/supporters.
This year, the Lavender Ceremony will occur on Thursday, May 21, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Heisman Field House. If you are attending, arrive no later than 1:40 p.m. so we may start on time.
Important Notes:
- To participate in the Lavender Ceremony, including being recognized in the slideshow and program and being considered for student speaker or performer, you MUST register before Friday, May 1.
- Those who do not register by May 1 are still welcome to join in on either event, but will not be individually recognized nor considered to be a keynote speaker or performer.
The Lavender Graduation Ceremony will include:
- A speech by a graduating student
- Performance(s) by graduating student(s)
- Individual recognition of participating graduates
- Refreshments and photo opportunities
Students, faculty, and staff are warmly welcome to attend. To ensure a supportive and affirming environment, we ask that any guests, including friends and family, be personally invited by a graduating student participating in the event. All are welcome.
