Two years ago, I wrote a detailed post about why we have a wait list that answered a number of questions you might have if you recently received a wait list letter from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, but I also wanted to comment specifically on this year's wait list.

Yesterday afternoon I was privileged enough to witness the fourth annual "waving goodbye to the truck" day in the Admissions office. Let me tell you, it was quite the celebration.

While I think of Â鶹ÊÓƵ as an alternate universe Hogwarts much of the time, we don't have owls delivering letters, though that would totally be the coolest.

Several people have blogged about their journeys to Â鶹ÊÓƵ. I've decided to add myself to this ever-growing list. Partly because my journey was not what some of you might expect and partly because I've avoided telling this story in its entirety for far too long.

I'm reading roughly over 1,100 applications before mid March.

Dear Prospies: Here are some tips on writing your Â鶹ÊÓƵ essay; I even dusted off my own and posted it up here. But most importantly, remember to breathe!!

If you applied Early Decision for the class of 2015, here's a small distraction from the long, painful wait by the mailbox! And if you're working frenetically on your Regular Decision essays, hopefully this will serve as inspiration ... or maybe a model of what not to do ...
