The associate professor of <a href="/arts-and-sciences/departments/environmental-studies">environmental studies</a> and <a href="/arts-and-sciences/departments/comparative-american-studies" target="_blank">comparative American studies</a> discussed the labor of frontline communities to protect and repair the world and to create better futures through direct action, expressive culture, and social care. Her talk focussed in particular on �鶹��Ƶ College’s collaboration with the community of Africatown, Alabama, the site where the last ship of enslaved peoples landed in 1860.
