She assumed the role on July 1 after serving in an interim capacity in spring.</p> <p>A double major who earned a bachelor’s degree in music and women’s studies with a minor in Jewish studies, Haas went on to earn a master’s degree in Jewish education from Yeshiva University in New York City.
